Kevin McGarvey

Kevin grew up in Indiana where he attended Indiana University for his undergraduate, graduate and medical school education. After completing his initial degree in Religious Studies and Management in 1999, he went on to help develop and become the first graduate from Indiana University’s MD/MBA program in 2004.

Kevin McGarvey

Kevin grew up in Indiana where he attended Indiana University for his undergraduate, graduate and medical school education. After completing his initial degree in Religious Studies and Management in 1999, he went on to help develop and become the first graduate from Indiana University’s MD/MBA program in 2004. From 2004 through 2007, Kevin trained in emergency medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. While in residency training, Kevin led research and development innovative programs for improving hospital operations and efficient access to quality emergency care. In 2007, Kevin joined Ergentus to practice emergency medicine in Colorado at Good Samaritan Medical Center and Lutheran Medical Center. He serves on hospital committees for infection control, pneumonia, and Medicare quality measures for Exempla.

In addition to clinical practice, Kevin is passionate about developing biomedical innovations that help save lives and improve patient outcomes. He is an avid lover of rock climbing, trail running and skiing in his free time.

Dave Wiebe

MD, Co-Founder

Dr. Wiebe grew up in Canada the son and grandson of doctors. His undergraduate training was at McGill University in Montreal and University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He performed specialist training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center.

Dave Wiebe

MD, Co-Founder

Dr. Wiebe grew up in Canada the son and grandson of doctors. His undergraduate training was at McGill University in Montreal and University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He performed specialist training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center. He has been active on numerous hospital committees, and currently holds Chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee. He is also active on Colorado Medical Society committees. Last but not least, Dave is incredibly excited to add Hippo Health Co-Founder to his list of achievements.

He spends time every year as the Ship’s Physician on large cruise ships traveling the world. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Dr. Rooks joined Ergentus in 2004 and is the Medical Director at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. He served as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 2010-2012 and was the 2014 Good Samaritan Physician of the Year.

Ken Rooks

MD, Co-Founder

Dr. Rooks joined Ergentus in 2004 and is the Medical Director at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. He served as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 2010-2012 and was the 2014 Good Samaritan Physician of the Year.

Dr. Rooks completed his emergency medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he served as Chief Resident in 2000-2001. He received his M.D. from the University of Colorado School Of Medicine and graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Prior to attending college he was a medic in the U.S. Army. Now, Ken couldn’t be more excited to co-found Hippo Health, another item he can add his list of achievements.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. Both he and his wife have a passion for education and athletics and are founders of a science and math focused public charter school, Prospect Ridge Academy, in Broomfield. He plays as much basketball and golf as his schedule will allow.

Dani Raeburn

MD, FACEP

Dani was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA (go Steelers!). She received her BA from Miami University, majoring in Zoology. Because of an amazing academic research mentor, Dr. Phyllis Callahan, she stayed at Miami and received her Masters degree in Neuroendocrinology. She entered Case Western Reserve School of Medicine earning her MD and matched as a categorical general surgery resident at University of Colorado.
She has experience in both basic science and clinical research. She switched into Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center after completing two years of general surgery. After residency, she began her career at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center and has served on the Ethics Committee and the Stroke Committee. She has been practicing Emergency Medicine at Lutheran and Good Samaritan Medical Center for 10 years.

Her interests include international medicine and she has traveled to Peru, Honduras, Guatemala and Tanzania on medical missions. She lives in Stapleton and has three (exceptional) children. Dani is learning to play the banjo, loves Pure Barre, gets to the mountains as often as she can, but really misses the beach.

Steve Doerr

Dr. Doerr was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he received his undergraduate degree in Spanish. In 1998, Dr. Doerr received his Medical Degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Steve Doerr

MD, FACEP

Dr. Doerr was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he received his undergraduate degree in Spanish. In 1998, Dr. Doerr received his Medical Degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After an internship year at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Hospital, he completed his training in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center in 2002, where he served as Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Doerr joined ERGENTUS, where he works as an attending physician at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center and Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Dr. Doerr has previously served on the hospital’s Ethics Committee, as well as having been a Board Member for the Colorado Preferred Physicians Organization (CPPO). Dr. Doerr is also currently a medical author and editor for the WebMD network. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Neide Fehrenbacher was born and raised in San Diego and attended The University of California, San Diego on the cliffs of beautiful La Jolla. She graduated with Honors in 1993 with a major in Physiology and Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Theatre.

Neide Fehrenbacher

Dr. Neide Fehrenbacher was born and raised in San Diego and attended The University of California, San Diego on the cliffs of beautiful La Jolla. She graduated with Honors in 1993 with a major in Physiology and Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Theatre. She then moved to the opposite coast to attend medical school at New York Medical College and to experience the excitement and culture of New York City. She then moved back to San Diego for her Transitional Internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital where she felt lucky to spend the year with her family and childhood friends. In 1999, she came to Denver to explore all of the amazing things the Rockies had to offer and to complete her Emergency Medicine Residency at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Fehrenbacher served as a Chief Resident her 4th year and was honored to join Ergentus upon graduation in 2002.

Dr. Fehrenbacher is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and practices at both Exempla Lutheran and Exempla Good Samaritan Hospitals. She strives to provide both compassionate and quality care; the type of care she would want for her own family. Dr. Fehrenbacher holds several administrative positions, which she truly enjoys. She is currently the Chair of the Exempla Lutheran Emergency Department, was recently elected as the Secretary Treasurer of the Exempla Lutheran Medical Staff and has felt honored to serve as a member of the Exempla Lutheran Credentials Committee since 2006.

In her free time, she loves to play with her 2 puppies, spend time with friends and family, travel, ski, rock climb, play racquetball, soccer and softball, read, watch movies and try just about any motorized or adrenaline based activity!

Ronald P. Keller

MD, FACEP

Dr. Keller was born in Texas but grew up all over the United States and in several foreign countries as the son of an Army officer. From high school on he has called Colorado home. After declining an appointment to the Air Force Academy (he had had his fill of the military lifestyle by then), he matriculated at Colorado State University as a National Merit Scholar. Graduating in 1978 with a degree in Biological Sciences he went on to work in the fields of geochemistry, precious metals mining and physiology generating numerous publications. In 1987 he joined the entering class of University of Colorado Health Sciences Center to study medicine, graduating with honors in 1991. After completing his internship in Transitional Medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and his residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver General Combined Residency in Emergency Medicine he practiced with Colorado Permanente Medical Group at Saint Joseph Hospital. In late 1997 he joined Emergency Services Physicians, P.C. and has been an active member of the group since. He has held several leadership positions with both the group and the hospital and is currently serving as the medical information officer and Physician Champion for the electronic medical records systems utilized at the group’s hospitals. In addition, he is contracted with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System, the sponsors of the hospitals, as their Emergency Medicine EMR Physician Champion for the entire 11-hospital system.

Dr. Keller resides in Littleton with his wife and children and has interests outside of medicine ranging from indoor sports, skiing, scuba diving, technical climbing and archery to computer/website design and support.

Kelli Lewis

MD, FACEP

Dr. Lewis grew up on a cotton farm outside of Ropesville, Texas, where she graduated in a class of 29 students from high school. She received an undergraduate degree in nursing from West Texas State University, and worked as a registered nurse in ICU and Emergency Departments for several years, including her first two years of medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. After graduating first in her class in 1988, she did two years of general surgery residency at Stanford University before returning to her first love, emergency medicine. She transferred and completed a residency at Denver Affiliated Residency in Emergency Medicine in 1992.

Dr. Lewis’ first full time job out of residency was at Lutheran Medical Center with Ergentus Emergency Service Physicians, where she has made her career since 1993. Dr. Lewis has held various leadership positions within Exempla Lutheran Medical Center where she chaired the Department of Emergency Medicine, and represented the ED on the multidisciplinary Peer Review Committee for many years. In 2004, she moved her practice to Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. Since that time, she has been instrumental in the refinement of the Peer Review process and the medical staff governance structure. She is the immediate past Medical Staff President, as well
as being the current Medical Director of the Emergency Department. She has also served Ergentus as a member of the Executive Committee. She was named a ‘5280 Top Doc’ in 2011.

Dr. Lewis is proud to be a member of Ergentus, and cannot imagine a more satisfying career. She feels that her nursing background has helped her tremendously, especially in the area of communication with patients and families. She feels that being able to quickly establish trust and rapport with those who come to her for care is the most satisfying part of being an emergency physician. She also loves the challenges of supporting and mentoring physicians from all specialties as part of her administrative duties within Good Samaritan.

Nathan Karber

MD, FACEP

Dr. Karber was born and raised in rural Iowa. By the time he could ride a bike, he was already roaming the hallways of hospitals with his father, an internist, and chasing his grandfather around his veterinary medicine practice. He attended the University of Iowa where he studied biology.

Dr. Karber was born and raised in rural Iowa. By the time he could ride a bike, he was already roaming the hallways of hospitals with his father, an internist, and chasing his grandfather around his veterinary medicine practice. He attended the University of Iowa where he studied biology. He moved to Guinea-Bissau, Africa, from there, and worked for the Peace Corps as a community developer and health educator along the remote coastline. His work and travels from the Atlantic coast to Timbuktu cemented his intent to add another generation of doctors to his family. After a year of clinical research at a rheumatology practice at Rush University in Chicago, he returned to the University of Iowa to attend medical school. There he received an NIH Student Research Fellowship to study characteristics of psychiatric patients that present to the emergency room and later was inducted into the Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. He completed a internship in surgery at the University of Colorado and his residency training in emergency medicine at Denver Health where he served as a chief resident.

Dr. Karber joined Ergentus in 2007. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Good Samaritan, the Mid-level Director for Ergentus, and on the Executive Committee of Ergentus. He also is a member of the Performance Excellence Committee for Good Samaritan Hospital. He spends as much time as possible with his family, his bikes, and his snowboard.

Stirling was founder and President at Foraker Labs, a consultancy specializing in building web and mobile software for startups and established companies in healthcare and transportation. His work at Foraker included a pivotal strategic role in helping to build a healthcare startup into a successful acquisition. Other work included technology leadership in the transportation industry and software development work in Japan.

Stirling graduated with a BSE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University.

Mike King has a broad business transactional practice with special emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, lending finance, securities offerings and general corporate matters. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes a range of public and private transactions, including leveraged buyouts, asset acquisitions and sales, and joint ventures. His securities experience includes representing U.S. and international issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt.

Mike advises a range of health care companies, helping them achieve a wide variety of business goals. His health care practice includes implementing clinic buy and build and de novo growth strategies, structuring joint ventures with physician investors, obtaining private equity and credit facility financing to fund aggressive growth, preparing medical director agreements and medical services agreements, and coordinating ongoing client needs with respect to medical facilities, from construction contracts to leasing to patient and vendor disputes.

Mike regularly structures sophisticated joint venture arrangements for both operational and investment ventures. Notably, Mike served as lead counsel to a $1 billion mezzanine debt facility joint venture, including the structuring and negotiation of the venture and credit facility, as well as structuring, documenting and reviewing over $700 million in mezzanine and senior debt financings.
